This Old New Old Guitar

I went to the Fox Valley jam last night. Byron begged off because he's got the big gig with Ray (Roy) and Doris tonight and is fighting a cold.

There was a good crowd at Elmer's; Tim, Ann and Ralph, Dale was there with his hawaiian guitar, Art, Rich brought his new Martin, Phil as usual, a lady who shows up a lot just to listen to whom I have not be introduced, and a couple nice women who just showed up to hear the music. The ladies there to listen took their turns by making requests so Phil and I got to play a couple extra songs apart from our usual turn in the circle. I always like it when that happens. One woman asked anyone to do a Steve Goodman song so I played Old Fashion Girl and a nice job of it, if I do say so myself.

Ann brought the Larrivee, I wrote her a cheque and that old guitar of which I was the first owner, is home to roost, the wandering boy. Ann had misuderstood the price I offered her and thought it a bit higher but was nice enough to accept my original offer. Thanks, Ann! I felt bad about it, until I got home that is.

Di was sleeping when I got home so I thought I would change the strings (the originals were pretty bad) because she's off today and I know will want to play it. I thought we had some light gauge strings around but we didn't so I stuck on a cheap set of mediums for the time being. I will pick up a set of light guage John Pearse phosphore bronze soon.

Isn't this exciting, folks?
