Today Is The First Day Of The Rest Of My Blog
I live in a far western suburb of Chicago and have been playing and writing music for over thirty years. While not being a very good songwriter, I have written some pretty good songs, if I do say so myself.
A ragtime lullaby I wrote for my oldest son, Erik's Lullaby, has been recorded by Chicago area folksinger Lee Murdock on his album, Wayfaring Stranger . Larry Swenson recorded another of my songs, The Nickel Plate on his cassette tape, Songs From My Friends. A third song, Avocado, has become my "greatest hit." Recorded by Small Potatoes on their album Time Flies. Their version was included in a demonstration disk shipped with each new Bose Special Edition Mazda Miata. A hammered dulcimer group from West Virginia, (who's name excapes me, for shame) learned Small Potatoes' version and recorded it on their new album.
Anyway, enough about me, let's talk about you. How much do you like me so far?
Dk and I have just finished recording our first CD, tenitivly titled, 'Nuff Said. It looks to be about twenty songs, some traditional, some not and some penned by me. I hope it turns out okay.
This is my first attemp at blogging, I hope to get better at it as time goes on. We hope to have more info as time goes on, plus rants and raves by DK and I and anyone else we deem important so keep checking back. And there you have it, friends and neighbors.
